Delete your account from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately. You will need to be able to sign in. If you cannot sign in, use the email request below instead.
Or request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would rather we handle it, email [email protected] from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. The button below opens your email app with the request already written.
We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on the request — this protects your account from someone else deleting it. We aim to acknowledge requests within a few business days and to complete verified requests within 30 days. You can also reach us at [email protected].
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we erase the personal information that identifies you and lock the account permanently. Deletion cannot be undone, and we cannot restore an account afterwards — so if you want your own copies of documents or records, save or export them before you delete.
| Data deleted | When |
|---|---|
| Name | Erased immediately |
| Email address | Erased immediately and freed, so it can be used to register again |
| Password | Erased immediately |
| Phone number and mailing address | Erased immediately |
| Profile photo, bio, website, company name and licence number | Erased immediately |
| Sign-in sessions on every device | Revoked immediately — the account can never be signed into again |
| Push notification device tokens | Deleted immediately — no further notifications are sent |
What is kept, and for how long
Propsynk is used to run real tenancies, so some records outlive the account. Where we keep a record, it is no longer linked to you by name or contact details — your entries appear as a deleted user. We keep these because tenancy, tax and consumer-reporting law requires it, or because the record belongs to someone else’s tenancy as much as yours.
| Data kept | Why | Additional retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Lease and tenancy records, agreements, amendments and notices | Tenancy law, and the other party to the tenancy keeps their own copy | Up to 7 years after the lease ends or the account closes, whichever is later |
| Rent records, receipts and payment history | Tax, accounting and tenancy-dispute obligations | Up to 7 years after the transaction, lease end or account closure, whichever is later |
| Contractor job and payment records, including Stripe payment metadata | Tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and chargeback obligations | Up to 7 years after the job, invoice, payment or dispute is closed |
| DocuSign envelope records and signing audit trails | The signed document's legal validity depends on its audit trail | Up to 7 years after the document is completed, voided or declined |
| Maintenance requests, photos, invoices and completion records | They form the repair history of a rental other people rely on | Up to 7 years after the request or job is closed |
| Tenant screening consent records and screening metadata | Consumer-reporting and consent recordkeeping obligations | Up to 7 years after consent is given or the application is closed |
| Security, authentication and audit logs | Security investigation and fraud prevention | Generally 1 to 2 years |
| Support tickets and related correspondence | Handling follow-up questions and disputes | Generally up to 3 years after the matter is closed |
| Backup copies | Backups are written in bulk and cannot be edited record by record | Overwritten on the normal backup cycle, within a limited period after deletion |
Once a retention period ends, the record is deleted or de-identified. Full detail is in the Data Retention Schedule in our Privacy Policy.
Two things to do before you delete
- Cancel your subscription separately. A paid Propsynk subscription is billed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us. Deleting your account does not cancel it — cancel it in your Google Play or Apple subscription settings first, or it will keep renewing.
- Save anything you want to keep. Export or download your leases, receipts and documents while you can still sign in.
One thing deletion does not reach: records another person keeps about a tenancy you were part of. If your landlord, property manager or a contractor maintains their own copy of a lease, notice or invoice in their account, that copy is their record and stays with them.
